Guide · Korean routine
Seven to ten steps, applied from the most fluid texture to the richest: that is the Korean routine. Here is how it works, and how we adapt it to your skin, independently of any brand.

The three principles

1.
An oil dissolves everything oily (makeup, sunscreen, sebum), then a gentle cleanser removes the rest. Skin is clean without being stripped.

2.
Each layer prepares the next: toner, essence, serum, then moisturiser. Leave about thirty seconds between steps.

3.
Gentle steps every day and sunscreen every morning: the Korean routine favours prevention over intensity.
The steps
These steps come from our advice sheets: they are exactly the ones in your skin diagnosis.
The first step of double cleansing: it dissolves makeup, sunscreen and excess sebum without stripping the skin.
On dry skin, massage one or two pumps with your fingertips, emulsify with a little lukewarm water, then rinse.
The second step of double cleansing: it removes water-based impurities and preps the skin for what follows.
Lather a small amount between your palms, massage for thirty seconds, rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
It refines skin texture and helps the following steps absorb better.
In the evening, on clean dry skin, then carry on with your routine. Never on the same night as a retinoid.
It rebalances the skin after cleansing and gets it ready for your treatments.
Pour it into your palms and pat it onto your face until absorbed.
The heart of the Korean routine: a first, very fluid layer of hydration that preps the skin for targeted care.
Pat a few drops in with your fingertips while your skin is still slightly damp.
Packed with actives, this is the step that answers your main concern.
Two or three drops, pressed gently over the whole face.
A moment to pause for comfort and glow: hydration in concentrated form.
On clean skin, leave on for fifteen to twenty minutes, then pat in the excess.
A texture designed for the delicate eye area, the first to show signs of fatigue.
A pea-sized amount for both eyes, patted on with your ring finger from the inner to the outer corner.
It seals in the hydration from the previous steps and protects the skin barrier.
Warm a small amount between your fingers and apply with upward strokes.
The step that does the most to help prevent dark spots and visible signs of ageing: every morning, even in winter.
Two finger-lengths for face and neck, as the last morning step. Reapply when exposed to the sun.
